Fiona studied medicine at Oxford University in England and has been a GP for more than 15 years. Her expertise saw her teach and mentor other doctors wanting to be GPs in the UK. She relocated to New Zealand with her husband and two teenage daughters in June 2012. Fiona believes in providing medical care which takes into account a patient’s lifestyle and health beliefs – what is going on in a person’s family and work life has a great impact on their ability to recover from illness.
She also believes it’s important for patients to share in medical decision making, and uses her excellent communication skills to form a long-term bond of trust and mutual understanding with her patients.
Fiona is experienced in all aspects of general practice with a passion and reputation for elderly care, women's health and paediatrics. Outside of work Fiona enjoys sailing, dancing and being a taxi service to her daughters!
